Medicaid Expansion Open Enrollment

Open enrollment for Virginia Medicaid Expansion began on November 1st and runs through December 31st. This is important because this is the only time during the year in which Expansion recipients can switch between Medicaid health insurance plans. As the COVID-19 pandemic continues, individuals have lost their health coverage or do not have health insurance through their employer.
